Florida Division of Elections announces qualified candidates for circuit judge
Miami, Florida- It’s official, as of 12:01 pm April 29th, 2022 Brenda Guerrero is a qualified candidate running for Miami-Dade
Circuit Court Judge, Group 20. Brenda is an experienced attorney, a product of the diversity of Miami-Dade County, and is
looking forward to serving her community as a Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge. She graduated from Miami-Dade College and
continued her educational journey at Barry University, where she sought a bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies. It was then
that her professional goals transformed and she decided to become a lawyer. After graduating from St. Thomas University
School of Law she worked for nearly twelve years in public service. She began her career as an attorney in Legal Aid, working
for two years helping low-income individuals meet basic needs, and removing barriers to justice through civil legal assistance. Then
worked as a Miami-Dade County Assistant State Attorney for nearly ten years protecting the rights of our children. After several
years working as a private attorney, Brenda now seeks to work as a Circuit Court Judge in public service “Serving as a Judge
would be an honor and the fulfillment of a dream. The dream my parents instilled in me when we arrived on the shores
of this country and found a home in this community” Said, Brenda.
Brenda Guerrero is admired and supported by numerous elected officials in Miami-Dade County; “We need more young
women like Brenda who are willing to step up” said Enid Weisman, Mayor of the City of Aventura and Brenda’s high school
principal. “Brenda is running for Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge, group 20 in 2022, and I endorse her candidacy for
this seat. Brenda was an intern for my office when I was Mayor, today she has become an esteemed Attorney” said
